Thursday late evenings in July offer the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful evening stroll in the garden at the special price of just £5 after 5pm. There will also be a barbecue.

Spend a summer evening in the garden with live music, enjoying the colours and scents at their peak. Make an evening of it with a meal (reservations essential on 01805 626821). Prices: normal garden admission or special offer: £5 entry after 5pm.

The Carnivorous Plant Society will run two free talks each day at 11.30am and 2.30pm covering the natural history and cultivation of these unusual plants. See displays of exotic temperate and tropical plants as well as native species.

16-17 July, Arts Fest, Wisley
Enjoy live music in the garden, acrobatic and theatre performances, craft stands and demonstrations plus a programme of poetry talks. New, try out your circus skills, including juggling, plate spinning and unicycle riding.

16–17 July, Meet the Author Weekend, Harlow Carr
Chat to four very different authors about their latest works. On 16 July, A Year of Cake author Lynn Hill and author of Common Ground Rob Cowen will be on hand to sign copies of their books and answer questions. On 17 July, Precarious Fortunes author Ian Townsend and creator of the D.I Yates novels Christina James will talk about the inspiration for their novels.
