Most people think it’s the end of the world if they have a garden that’s in shade.

However, more and more of us in urban or suburban homes have this to contend with – sunlight not blocked by trees but by other buildings.

You can have a successful, beautiful, lush garden in semi shade or shade – to use that well-worn phrase, by choosing ‘right plant, right place’.
