The customer is always right is the old saying – and DT Brown has taken that to heart with the launch of its 2017 Fruit and Vegetable Grower’s Seed and Plant Catalogue.

Following extensive research, including an online questionnaire, and talking to people at gardening shows, the catalogue has been redesigned and improved for next season. Customers decided they wanted:

  • More information on disease-resistant varieties
  • When to sow and grow
  • Detailed harvest charts for long-cropping vegetables
  • Icons for quick identification of horticultural information
  • An index

DT Brown has introduced a range of organic seeds – again in response to customer demand – and is highlighting varieties with natural resistance to diseases.

General manager Tim Jeffries said: “We have now given them all of this and have also included health benefits and interesting facts too.

“To get the extra information and varieties in, we have increased the number of pages to give our customers an even better choice, which we know they value, so this is our biggest catalogue ever.”

Although there’s been a lot of change, it retains its proud kitchen garden heritage dating back more than a century, which is reflected in the new design, including the front cover, which was inspired by those of the 1930s.
