New ‘Gardens for a Changing World’ to reflect climate change

The world’s largest annual flower show, the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace event, sponsored by Viking Cruises, runs from July 4-9.

At twice the size of RHS Chelsea, it offers gardeners a chance to shop until they drop against the stunning historical backdrop of Hampton Court Palace.

RHS Malvern Spring Festival celebrates the finest in gardening and food, with show gardens and nursery displays alongside food producers, shopping and top tips from gardening experts and celebrity chefs.

This year’s event, at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, is inspired by the Malvern’s Victorian spa town heritage. Set against the lovely Malvern Hills, the show gardens are a big draw, with five designers being awarded RHS Gold Medals last year. Continue reading “RHS Malvern 2017 preview”

Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2017 preview

Someone thought it would be funny for me to stand here…

I say it every year, but If you only go to one horticultural show a season, make sure it’s Harrogate (or push the boat out and make BOTH spring and autumn events).

Why? It’s good value, inspirational, down to earth, with great bargains from a huge variety of nurseries – shop wisely and you’ll make back your entrance fee on the money you save.

It’s also the only show my non-gardening partner will happily visit because there are so many other things going on – namely food and drink – to keep him amused.
