Summer holiday activities and shows for all ages – even non-gardeners

1 Aug: Yorkshire Day Games, RHS Garden Harlow Carr
Celebrate Yorkshire with a family day out. Take part in games including flat cap throwing, Yorkshire pudding and spoon races and a Yorkshire Tea relay race.

1–5 August: RHS Garden Hyde Hall Flower Show
Find plants from dozens of specialist nurseries, expert advice and demonstrations, and enjoy the garden at the height of summer.

2 August: Outdoor Theatre, RHS Garden Harlow Carr
Oscar Wilde’s classic The Importance of Being Earnest.

4–5 August: All about Orchids, RHS Garden Harlow Carr
Experience the beauty of these exotic plants with Harrogate Orchid Society – see displays, expert demonstrations and take home tips for growing your own.

17–19 August: RHS Garden Rosemoor Flower Show
More than 35 specialist nurseries and suppliers from across the South West, a new floral display trail, talks, demonstrations and more.

18–19 August: Carnivorous Plant Show, RHS Garden Wisley
Discover carnivorous plants from all around the world, including native British species, with displays, expert advice, talks and unusual plants and books for sale.

18 August–23 September: Surrey Sculpture Society Trail, RHS Garden Wisley
Follow a trail of contemporary and traditional sculpture featuring work from some of the South East’s finest, established and emerging artists.
