Four ornamentals and one raspberry unveiled
Wholesale grower Wyevale Nurseries has unveiled five new stars for 2019, some of which will be on sale at good garden centres from May.
Retail sales manager Colin Stanley said: “Agapanthus Fireworks is a new agapanthus with glorious bi-colour blue and white blooms that explode into life.
“The flower heads are supersize and densely packed with trumpet-shaped flowers. It grows to a medium height of around 50-60cm.”
It will be available in a 2-litre pot from June.
A dwarf and compact raspberry that will give a crop of fruit in its first year, ideal for the patio that comes ready to place in the garden.
Enjoy the long season of fruits throughout the summer. Supplied in a red patio container. Available from May in 5-litre pots.
Ficinia Ice Crystal
This unusual grass has distinctive ‘frosted’ foliage giving the illusion of a crisp winter’s morning all year round.
Plant in full sun and watch it flourish. The ultimate patio pot grass, sure to stand out in any garden or plant in clusters for maximum impact.

Euonymus White Spire
An upright variegated euonymus, which is perfect for low hedges or as specimens in pots.
It retains its colours all year round, is hardy to -15C and can be grown in all soil types.

Anisodontea elegans Princess
Long-lasting pink flowers and light green foliage make this perennial a must have.
It grows well in pots or shaded borders and is an excellent replacement for the disease-prone Lavatera and bees and butterflies love it.
