The new series on Channel 5 starts Tuesday, June 4 at 9pm
One of the nation’s best-loved gardeners, Carol Klein, has a new gardening series on Channel 5, called Great British Gardens: Season By Season. It begins on Tuesday, June 4 at 9pm, just in time for the peak gardens visiting season.
In the show, she visits four of England’s greatest gardens. Carol, a Garden Media Guild patron, visits throughout the seasons to see how each garden changes, with one site featured in each episode.
She will meet the people who care for the gardens and learn the secrets of some of England’s most treasured outdoor spaces.
Great British Gardens – The four sites
Great Dixter: In the Sussex Weald, an Arts and Crafts masterpiece and home of renowned gardener and writer Christopher Lloyd.
Ashwood: In the Black Country, it is a private garden in a rural canal-side setting next to Ashwood Nurseries, with a huge plant collection and many innovative design features.
Gravetye Manor: In East Sussex, and set over 35 acres, it was originally created by visionary gardener William Robinson in 1885, and is famed for its kitchen garden.
Gresgarth Hall: The Lancashire retreat of internationally renowned garden designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd. The gardens include terraces, a wild area, water garden, herb plot, woodland, vegetables and an orchard.
