Mental health and gardening – MandyCanUDigIt’s story

My experiences and overcoming anxiety and depression

Talking about mental health issues is never easy but thanks to the new openness about conditions, I’ve been able to talk about my problems with depression and anxiety.

I’ve written about my experiences before – see here – and it’s great to have sites like Life at No.27 and Annabelle, who has taken mental health awareness and gardening to a new level.

Anyway, I made this video a few weeks back and still felt unsure about posting it – sharing some of your darkest days really isn’t easy!

However, thanks to just watching Gardeners’ World and the wise words of Will Young and Monty Don, both of whom are great advocates of gardening helping with depression and anxiety, I felt I could finally post it.

The depression’s at bay but the anxiety still bites at my heels – like a garden, it’s a work in progress!
