Sending love to all and helping to save the planet

This is another company I met up with at Glee (Garden, Leisure, Equipment Exhibition) at Birmingham’s NEC, showcasing the best new products for 2020. Could you really ask any more from a card company?

1 Tree Cards was born from the idea that the love sent through cards could be amplified to have positive effects around the world.

Every 1 Tree Card plants a tree through its partner charity, Eden Reforestation Projects. The trees planted help to restore healthy forests where they’re needed the most.

Cards and envelopes are 100 per cent recycled and printed with vegan vegetable-based inks.

Plastic-free cards

Optional compostable sleeves for retailers are made of corn and yam, so they are plastic-free.

As an LGBTQIA+ owned and operated business, 1 Tree Cards’ aim is to break the boundaries of conventional gender and sexual stereotypes in a cute and subtle way.

Have you heard about the declining bee numbers and what a disaster this is for them and us? That’s why a seed token is included with cards.

These tell the receiver that a tree has been planted for them but they can also be planted and will grow into flowers! Each token contains a mix of Sweet Alyssum, Baby’s Breath, Basil, Poppy, Black-Eyed Susan and Marigold.

No chemical bleaching

To avoid chemical bleaching, the firm has opted for a card that is not bright white.

Some cards may have tiny flecks that are barely noticeable and add to the natural feel of our cards. All of our cards are also 100 per cent recyclable.

All cards sold on the website directly to customers are naked – they have no ‘plastic’ wrappings, even though sleeves for retailers are made from corn and yam.
