Sustainable support for containers made in the UK
If you hate expensive pot feet and the stains containers leave on patios equally, then Pot-Mate™ could be the answer to your prayers. This innovative little product was created by Phil and Elaine Wilson from S&S Garden Designs Ltd, based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
As a mostly container gardener myself, I really dislike fussy (and expensive) pot feet, usually resorting to old bricks! Pot-Mate™ is a simple but clever idea – a strong black ring in three sizes that sits invisibly under the container.
They’re stable, strong and very light, available in 150mm, 200mm and 250mm diameter to fit pot bases from 160mm to 360mm. Choose a Pot-Mate™ that is slightly smaller than the base of your chosen pot.

Pot-Mate™ – better airflow and no staining
The tripod rings lift the pots clear of the ground, allowing better airflow and preventing staining and enabling water to drain away – there’s no waterlogging! Raising pots slightly off the ground also protects them from slugs and snails and means manoeuvrability is easier.
As well as being designed in the UK, it’s made here too, from 100% recycled polymer. Even the product labels are recyclable. Pot-Mate™ won the seventh GIMA Innovators Seed Corn Fund Award, winning support up to the value of £6,000 to help with development and marketing costs.
S&S Garden Designs Ltd appeared at the Garden Press Event. Held every March at the Business Design Centre, London, it showcases the best new horticultural products. For prices, stockists and more information, visit pot-mate.co.uk.
