RHS-endorsed equipment combines extreme strength and sustainability
Burgon & Ball has unveiled BoronGreen, a major new RHS-endorsed tool range that marks a revolution in gardening tools. The patent-pending BoronGreen range offers the strength and durability of boron steel. This combines with sound sustainability credentials, including 80 per cent recycled steel. The combination marks a first in UK garden tools.
Adding the element boron to carbon steel creates a new level of performance. This type of steel has long been used in the automotive and agricultural sectors for strength and durability. Now, boron steel offers performance above and beyond that of a like-for-like garden tool in carbon steel.
The advanced performance isn’t BoronGreen’s sole attraction. Burgon & Ball’s sustainability targets mean the steel in the tool heads is 80 per cent recycled, a first in UK gardening tools. The FSC-certified white ash wood handles and shafts come from sustainably managed forests.
BoronGreen tool range – hallmark design
All this combines with Burgon & Ball’s hallmark design. There’s a tough powder coating in olive green to protect the steel, and a visible sharpened edge on spade, trowel, etc. The strong FSC®-certified white ash boasts shock-absorbing properties. The thermo-treated grip gives increased durability and moisture resistance.
The comprehensive BoronGreen range consists of 17 key items across both large and hand tools. All tools in the range carry a 25-year guarantee. The new tools join Burgon & Ball’s flagship collection of RHS-endorsed tools, the only garden tools to carry endorsement from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Accessible pricing
With RRPs ranging from just £8.99 up to £32.99, the new BoronGreen range offers accessible pricing, coupled with superior benefits over traditional carbon tools. Add in its advanced environmental credentials, and BoronGreen offers gardeners something unique: a true revolution in gardening tools.
Burgon & Ball was participating in The Garden Press Event 2025 at the Business Design Centre London. The event is open exclusively to the gardening media and allows brands and growers to showcase their new products for the season.
