Wyevale Nurseries and Plantipp B.V. hope the gift will extend plant research
Mangave succulents are settling into their new home at RHS Wisley after a donation from Wyevale Nurseries and partners Plantipp B.V. Wisley’s experts will extend plant research into winter hardiness in The Mad About Mangave range.
The huge succulents come in four varieties – Bad Hair Day, Inkblot, Lavender Lady and Whale Tale. Wyevale Nurseries’ production manager Kyle Ross said: “The plants will be on display in indoor and outdoor beds. These very impressive plants are now sitting in 10 litre pots and look absolutely monstrous!”

Assessing Mad About Mangave succulents range
Mark Tuson, Team Leader, Welcome and Riverside at Wisley, said: “We’re very excited to be assessing the Mad about Mangave range. We’ll be checking on their hardiness, using winter protection, in the sandy soil around the Stone Pine Café. We’d like people to come and see the madness of the Mangave in person this year!”
Peter van Rijssen from Plantipp B.V. hopes that visitors will learn about the Mangaves by seeing them on trial.

Revolutionary collection
He said: “I’m very proud of our plants being on show at RHS Garden Wisley and with Wyevale Nurseries for making this donation of our revolutionary collection of Mad about Mangaves. They are wonderful to see, and I think they will be a great talking point for RHS staff and visitors.”
