The RHS has endorsed the new range of nine professional-quality peat-free and organic SylvaGrow composts, made by Melcourt and sold by Dobies. It’s not the cheapest compost but worth investing in if you have prized plants.
RHS SylvaGrow blends fine bark, wood fibre from sustainably managed British forests and coir (from a single known source), plus sterilised loam and sand. It contains balanced nutrients for the first 4-6 weeks of growth. SylvaGrow does not contain peat or green waste compost.
Choose from six growing mediums, used by professional organic growers throughout the UK. Each of the SylvaGrow composts is suitable for raising seeds and cuttings, potting on and planting out.
