More than 1 million plants a year grown at Hampshire nurseries
The new Hillier online shop has been launched, meaning its nursery’s plants will be available throughout the UK, not just in southern England. Hillier has 19 garden centres in the South of England, so gardeners from all over the country will now be able to enjoy plants, seeds, bulbs and sundries.
The launch came following an 18 per cent growth in the online plant market in 2020, according to the Salience – Online Plants: Insight Report. This prompted the 155-year-old company to speed up plans for an online store ready for 2022.

More than one million plants a year are grown at the company’s nurseries near Romsey, Hampshire, on more than 100 acres of land.
The Hillier online includes an extensive range of perennials, shrubs and grasses. Plants are also selected, packed and dispatched at the Hampshire site. Visitors can enjoy browsing, garden furniture, barbecues, tools and lawn care. The site also carries gardening tips, inspiration and advice, as well as suggestions for planting schemes.
The most successful exhibitor at RHS Chelsea, Hillier, holds the world record for the most consecutive gold medals – 74. Founded in 1864, the company now has 19 garden centres.
